(RTTNews) - UK's visible trade deficit narrowed to GBP 6.2 billion in August from a deficit of GBP 6.4 billion in July, the Office for National Statistics said Friday. Economists had forecast GBP 6.3 billion deficit. Exports fell 0.6% month-on-month and imports dropped 1.2%. Total trade balance in August resulted in a deficit of GBP 2.3 billion in August, compared with a revised deficit of GBP 2.6 billion in July. The deficit with non-EU countries narrowed to GBP 3 billion in August, compared with a deficit of GBP 3.9 billion in July. |
