| Georgia Central Bank Holds Key Policy Rate For Sixth Straight Month |

(RTTNews) - The National Bank of Georgia retained its key policy rate unchanged on Tuesday. The Monetary Policy Committee of the central bank decided to hold its refinancing rate at 6%. The central bank retained its interest rate for the sixth consecutive month. In April, the bank had lowered its main policy rate by 50 basis points from 6.5%. The annual consumer price inflation stood at 0.4% in September. As a result, average annual inflation hit 2.5%. The central bank forecast the annual average inflation to be 9% for 2009. The central bank is set to release the next monetary policy rate on November 25. |
