Portuguese Output Price Inflation Rises In January

Portugal's producer price inflation accelerated in January, after slowing in the previous month, data released by Statistics Portugal showed Friday.
The producer price index increased 4.6 percent on an annual basis in January, faster than the 4.4 percent growth recorded in December.
Output prices in the manufacturing sector rose 3.4 percent annually, while prices in the mining and quarrying sector dropped 0.1 percent during the month. There was a 10.7 percent annual growth in the production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
On a monthly basis, producer prices moved up 2.3 percent in January, recovering from the previous month's 0.1 percent decrease, the agency said.
